Sutton Wheelers is a wheelchair basketball club and are looking for new recruits from the age of 5 - 18years. It is open to all abilities (you don't have to be in a wheelchair to play), its a fully inclusive sport. Wheelchairs will be provided on the night at a cost of £5 per session OR £20 per month No joining costs and no membership needed So if you feel that little bit of energy that needs to be burnt off and you want to help keep fit and healthy and meet new people for 1.5hrs a week. Coming Soon..... 'Knock and Natter'

'Knock and Natter' is a new open community session for any ability. 'Knock and Natter' is a concept designed by Academy Transformation Trust in partnership with Ashfield District Council. Sessions are designed to be relaxed and friendly for people to come along and have a go at the activities on offer and 'natter' while you play. The sessions will start with a mixture of Badminton, Squash and or Table Tennis and you can try one or more the activities during the sessions. If you prefer one specific activity, this is fine too but a great opportunity to try a new activity. Useful Information: - The sessions are designed for 18years + (note: Junior 'Knock and Natter' coming soon....) - All abilities welcome from beginner to regular player - Racket or Bat not essential - loan equipment available on site. (if you have your own equipment, please bring it) - Appropriate sport clothing / footwear essential - Sessions are designed as a 'drop in', arrive when you can, leave when you need too within the advised session times. - Essential - tell your friends and family and share on social media - Advised booking advised but not essential. - Most importantly, you can come along alone or bring a friend, family member or work colleague for a 'knock and natter'. A playing partner is not essential. 50 years!! To all Sutton Centre/Sutton Centre Community College/ Sutton Community Academy staff and ex staff. "The name may change but the song remains the same" - this September 2023 Sutton Centre is celebrating its 50 year anniversary as the beating heart of the community. If you are staff or ex staff the come and join us. There will be reminiscences, memorabilia, the chance to see old faces and colleagues again, a full bar, buffet and live music from an ex Showaddywaddy band member (we did open in the 1970's after all!!) It promises to be an evening to remember. Date: 30th September 2023 in Sutton Community Academy, Princess Suite. 7pm until midnight Tickets: Entry is strictly by pre booked ticket online. Join us from 4.30pm - 6.30pm to look at the exciting plans for the Maker Space, Council officers will be on hand to discuss the project and answer any questions. The ground floor of High Pavement House will be home to the Maker Space, a place for like-minded people to meet and share their love of creating, crafting, making, and inventing whilst accessing the machines and skills to help their projects come to life. Dream of being on stage or screen or even in the next Sutton Community Academy panto? Then why not join “The Centre Stage Academy”. Learn new skills from improvisation to physical theatre,stagecraft to improved confidence. Children will work with Jon Burrows, a theatre maker and workshop leader of 13 years with a BA Hons in Theatre. Jon has directed the Academy productions of Peter Pan and Rapunzel and the Snow queen. The children will work towards at least one performance per year.

You’ll learn professional theatre skills from industry professionals, develop physical theatre and storytelling knowledge - all within a large scale theatre venue. You’ll be able to showcase all that you’ve developed over the week for a live audience in our dedicated theatre space at the end of the week.

Our sessions are open to young people of all schools aged 11-18, and provide an open, non-judgmental space to engage with industry professionals in a collaborative, creative environment.
